thats fast! HDFC bank Chromepet takes upto a week to clear a cheque from Indian bank Chromepet. It all depends on where the clearing bank is. Coonoor cheques used to take two weeks to clear from Ooty - which is 18 km away. Reason: for some odd reason they go via Erode. Same with courier from Ooty to Coonoor - goes to Erode, gets sorted there, comes back to Ooty and then goes to Coonoor.
