Communist's failure as a Party

The clear loser in this election is the Communist Party. They had a total of 60+ seats nation wide and it is reduced to mere 20+ seats in this election. The people's mandate in Kerala and West Bengal clearly indicates that they are not reaching the people. As someone says, their policies are frozen and they think for tomorrow while others already do it today.
Personally, I do not see this alone as the reason for the failure. The leadership in the name of Prakash Karat is really doing the total mess. I do not think he is a pure communist. I'm not commenting upon his failure to tune the policies by changing times, but his attitude towards learning from mistakes.
During the post-result press meet, he was stressing again he'll support any party other than Congress and BJP. It is clearly the indication of his primary desire to stay in power and have control over the happenings in the Government. He was not commenting upon what went wrong and whether he will review his policies. He still can not digest, or accept his mistake that withdrawing support for the UPA Government against the NDA deal with the US Government. He seem to personally unconvinced that it's not a good thing for the party than it is against the Communist policy to depend on a foreign country. He do not seem to consult with Senior members in the party Somnath Chatterjee, AB Baradan whom I term as a true Communists.
On the other hand, AB Baradan, CPI General Secretary accepts the failure. He was clearly upset over the failure in both states. He spoke like a true Communist, "we'll sit in Opposition as we are used to" and "we will sit together and review our policies". He was also visually upset over the leadership and his helplessness to bring in a change in the party is observable.

Wish communist will change their policies along with changing times.
